Job Description:

Perform a variety of engineering duties relating to the analysis and design of underground and/or open pit
mines in various stages of development ranging from concept to feasibility. Focus will be on underground
projects with opportunities to aid in open pit projects.
 Plan, schedule and coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work associated with major
underground mine projects or multiple projects at various levels of development.
 Develop and evaluate underground mining plans in close collaboration with a team of engineering,
geological and geotechnical experts.
 Prepare recommendations, summaries, schedules and cost estimates. Aid in decision making for
prioritization of key projects to move forward to advanced stages.
 Develop, review and maintain engineering standards and specifications in accordance to the Mining
Regulation.
 Interface with consulting engineers for larger scale projects.
 Plan and direct engineering assignments on projects.
 Interact with government agencies on permitting requirements as required.
Qualifications / Skills:
 Degree in Mining Engineering with APEO registration, or eligibility for registration, is required.
Minimum of 5 years in underground mine design experience.
 Technical strength coupled with interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi task.
 Must have strong computer software skills (Vulcan experience an asset), and polished, professional
written and verbal communication skills.

* Ser parte del equipo de puesta en marcha, asistir en las actividades de pre-operación y operar los circuitos en relación al arranque de la planta.

* Crear y mantener altos estándares de trabajo, en el lugar de trabajo y de limpieza.

Arturo Project Manager / Manager of Strategic Planning

  • Develop structure of operating systems to smoothly transition into operations (LOM, GCOA, etc)
  • Manage relationship with venture partner Goldcorp. 
  • Assist with Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), including shifting responsibilities to Goldstrike environmental group.       
  • Manage equipment shift from Goldstrike to Arturo. 
      Manager of Strategic Planning:     
  • Strategic Planning could be defined as planning activities that require coordination from a regional perspective.  Specifically, multiple mines feeding rate limited process facilities. We currently use a mining friendly linear program called Minemax to help identify the best feed strategy.  Some of the projects in this area are regional railroad evaluation and mine-to-mine equipment optimization.
  • Project development activities range from mine site expansion (Cortez Hills Lower Zone) to full mine development (Arturo) and support to advanced stage exploration projects.    These activities are not exclusively the domain of this team.  Other technical service team members are also working on project development activities as skills and time dictate.

This may include the application FMEAs. ·      Review relevant consultant specifications, drawings and especially OEM manuals to ensure that maintenance best practices are adopted and transitioned into the planning component of the CMMS. ·     Prepare contributions to month end reports as requested and as required. ·    Assist with the establishment of a maintenance safety program inclusive of the creation of necessary CMMS based PMs to satisfy all local authority and Barrick Policy mandatory requirements. Experience with the maintenance at a planning level of high voltage distribution and emergency generator system would be highly regarded.
