Headquartered in Houston, Texas, ConocoPhillips stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “COP.”  Description: The purpose of the E&P L48 Accounting Policy Coordinator is toprovide guidance to personnel within L48 to ensure compliance with both new and existing accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Provide advice/guidance on existing accounting policy to Finance personnel across L48 upon request
  • Determine implications of new accounting standards and coordinate implementations
  • Communicate new policies or changes to existing policies after conducting the appropriate research and review to determine applicability to Lower 48.
  • Communicate policy-related clarifications, activities, and reminders to all Lower 48 Finance personnel monthly
  • Communicate accounting policy updates/changes to the L48 Leadership Team quarterly
  • Perform reviews of significant agreements/transactions as needed, and identify accounting implications
  • Revise accounting policies to improve content and communicate changes to accounting policy contacts

 

Qualifications

 
Basic/Required: 

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Master's degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • Broad understanding of GAAP and accounting policies
  • 5+ years of Public Accounting experience
  • 5+ years of E&P account experience 
Preferred: 
  • 10+ years of Public Accounting experience
  • 10+ years of E&P account experience 
  • Exposure to ConocoPhillips businesses and accounting issues
  • Good communication and influence skills
  • Ability to progress multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work independently
