Job Description:

Specialising in ground engineering and environmental services, we also provide the complete suite of ore evaluation services to our global client base, including resource and reserve estimation, mine engineering and rock mechanics. We are looking for senior mining Geologists to join us and specifically are seeking a quality candidate to take up a position as Principal Coal Geologist – Field Manager. Responsibilities include: - Lead teams of geologists for coal drilling, data acquisition and analysis projects in Australia and overseas - Planning for and then execution of the required field programmes, being a principal point of contact for clients in the field and base offices, and head offices as required during data analysis, interpretation and resource estimation - Provide consulting advice to clients in regard to prospectivity of clients coal properties and strategies to optimise exploration and resource development programs in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner - Ensure that data is collected, processed and managed in a manner to enable downstream use in modelling and mine planning - Working with other members of the coal geology team to make the best use of shared resources and to ensure an integrated approach to all geological work - Liaison with clients, including writing of proposals - Developing new business opportunities in the area of coal geology - Mentoring and training of junior staff - Where required, project management, budgeting and quality assurance/quality control for coal data acquisition assignments - Liaison with specialists from other disciplines and other Golder offices Providing a good example in Health & Safety leadership Job Requirements: The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: - Bachelor degree in Geology - AUSIMM membership, or equivalent - Relevant experience in coal exploration and resource development - Leadership and management skills - An aptitude for business development - A passion for the training and mentoring of junior staff - Excellent communication and report writing skills - High ethical and professional standards Demonstrable commitment to safety Additional Information: Our Staff Benefit from: • - An option to purchase shares in Golder Associates - Career and personal development opportunities and support of personal growth - Employee mentoring program - Work life balance initiatives such as additional leave options - Corporate fitness programs and subsidised gym memberships Competitive benefits and remuneration packages The winner of sixteen BRW Client Choice Awards; Golder Associates is a respected, employee-owned, global company providing consulting, design, and construction services in our specialist areas of earth, environment, and the related areas of energy.
