Job Description:

Due to our global and national growth and exciting and demanding projects we have a position available for a Field Geotechnician in our Brisbane team.. Member of Geotechnical group to carry out fieldwork as part of geotechnical investigations. Duties may include but not be limited to: - Recording of ground conditions (logging) from drilling of boreholes, excavation of test pits, hand augering, dynamic cone penetrometers testing. - Installation of instrumentation equipment, including piezometers, inclinometers, etc. - Carrying out specialist in situ tests eg. pressuremeter, packer tests - Preparation of factual data for reporting - Assist in laboratory with testing in peak times, if required - Assist with other fieldwork duties as and when required (such as surveying) This work will be project dependent and will involve some travelling outside Brisbane. Extended work outside Brisbane will be on rotation basis. Golder Associates prides itself on a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environment, which is fundamental to Golder approach to work. Job Requirements: The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: - Experience in soil & rock logging is preferable - TAFE or similar course in laboratory science or related discipline is highly desirable - Basic mathematical skills - Good analytical skills - Strong communication skills - Strong teamwork skills - Good problem solving skills Other Requirements - Attention to detail - Tolerance for outdoor and onsite work - Desire to learn - Manual Driver’s licence required - 4WD & Defensive driver training desirable.
