We are looking for a GIS Analyst on a fixed term contract (6 months with potential opportunity of an extension) to provide support for existing and new GIS projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and expertise related to spatial technologies and their application to environmental assessment and engineering projects
- Liaison and technical support to GIS consumers and clients solutions
- Preparation of maps using ESRI and/or CAD software
- Spatial analysis using GIS and 3D modeling software
- Creating and maintaining ESRI Geodatabases
- Data collection, validation and formatting
- Performing spatial analysis and modeling
- Cartographic presentation & 3D visualization
Job Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent experience in the area of Spatial, Environmental or Geosciences
- First experience in GIS, preferably in a similar environment
- Proven experience using ArcGIS desktop (ArcMap) with 3D Analyst and/or Spatial Analyst extensions for both cartographic and analytical purposes
- Experience using an environmental management system (e.g EQuIS)
- Working Knowledge of GPS units/field data capture tools
- Experience using 3d modeling packages, AutoCAD 2011, FME, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Corel Graphics Suite would be looked upon favourably
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
This is a flexible role that can be conducted full time or part time (5 days a week – minimum 4 hours per day).
Office is located near St Leonards Station, lower North Shore.
