Job Description:

Duties & responsibilities:

• Inspect all working areas to ensure safe operations and compliance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 (“Act”)
• Develop annual electrical and services long-term maintenance plans
• Carry out fault-finding and diagnosis of equipment and system failures
• Develop and maintain a testing and inspection schedule for all underground electrical and service equipment
• Work closely with the Underground Maintenance Manager and Underground Safety and Training Advisor to facilitate ongoing skills assessments and the development of your team
• Adhering to strict environmental procedures to ensure good housekeeping and resource conservation
• Training and assessment of apprentices and tradespersons with regard to technical upgrades and techniques
• Maintain close working relationships with other departments

The successful candidate will have good safety focus and the flexibility to work as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will also prove a key to performing in this important role.   Education & experience:

• Electrical Trade certificate
• Able to fulfill requirements for appointment as an Electrical Supervisor in accordance with Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations (1995)
• WA Electrical Workers License (A Grade Fitter / Mechanic)
• High Voltage certification
• Open cabling and Austel license desirable
• Demonstrated management experience
• Good computer skills
