Job Description:

A staff vacancy exists at Zinc Open Pits Mine Maintenance for suitably qualified Radio/Electronics/IT Technician. This position is fully residential and based in Mount Isa Queensland.

Reporting to the Machine Guidance Supervisor, the successful applicant will become part of a growing and dynamic team. You will be responsible for the maintenance and expansion of existing High Precision Machine Guidance and Fleet Management System, WLAN, 2-Way Communications, and IT Systems Hardware and Software. You will also actively participate in technical training, safety improvement programs, risk assessment processes and meetings and discussions as required. In our recent expansions we have made enhancements to our automated dispatching, automated equipment monitoring, wireless network infrastructure and associated IT systems.

The experience & technical competencies required are relevant trade or tertiary qualifications and experience, sound computer skills and also effective written and verbal communication skills.

The successful applicant should possess the ability to problem solve, a drive and desire to learn, work in a team environment and support and assist in the development of these technical applications.

Onsite training will be provided to the successful applicant
