Job Description:

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide leadership to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards that exceed worldwide industry practice and any applicable legislative requirements.
Actively lead training and Succession Planning of the Process Operations Team to ensure that Barrick achieves development of Tanzanian employees to assume positions of increasing accountability. Development of Shift Supervisors, Lead Hands and Process Operators to positions of increasing accountability is a Key Performance Indicator.
Lead activities of the Operations Shift Team to assure cost effective and high quality metal recovery activities, metallurgical performance and to optimise Company’s financial status.
Consistent with throughput and recovery considerations ensure that operating practices results in maximum mill availability.
Develop and implement Safe Work Procedures and other operational procedures. Actively train Operations Team on these procedures in readiness for commissioning and operation of Buzwagi Process Plant.
Provide technical and practical input into development of training packages.
Provide ongoing training, mentoring and employee performance management, to develop and maintain a safe, competent and results orientated Process Operations Team.
Lead Operations Team during optimisation of Process Plant.

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES Education Requirements:

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years experience in process plant operations and gold production including experience with gravity recovery, base metals flotation and CIL, with at least 3 years in leadership role.
Experience in systematic coaching and training of employees in developing country is essential.
Previous commissioning experience is advantageous.
