Xstrata Zinc currently has a vacancy for a Mining Electrical Supervisor at the McArthur River Mine site. McArthur River Mining Pty Ltd operates a zinc-lead-silver mine in which 2.2 million tonnes of ore is extracted each year. McArthur River Mine is a Fly-in, Fly-out operation based from Darwin, located in the Gulf of Carpentaria region of the Northern Territory.

This position will report to the Mining Infrastructure Superintendent.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Provide electrical and infrastructure solutions to this unique open-pit mining operation
• Providing leadership to your team for the installation and maintenance of all electrical equipment associated with the mine
• Being accountable for MRM Airport, Mine Offices/ buildings and other projects as required

 

Expected qualifications include:

• Electrical trade certificate & High Voltage Switching Certificate

 

Roster: 4 days on, 3 days off

You will have at least 3 years supervisory experience. Background experience in mining, civil or heavy industrial would be highly regarded as well as any tickets in HR, EWP, Forklift or other mobile equipment.
