Job Description:

McArthur River Mining Pty Ltd operates a zinc-lead-silver mine in which 2.2 million tonnes of ore is extracted each year. McArthur River Mine is Fly-in, Fly-out based from Darwin, and is located in the Gulf of Carpentaria region of the Northern Territory.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent – Technical Services, you will ensure that the long and short term Geotechnical systems at McArthur River Mine meet the needs of a growing open pit operation. 

 

Your main tasks will be to lead a team in developing Geotechnical management systems and models, deliver on Geotechnical investigation programs to approved budgets and deadlines and collaborate and provide technical support to the Technical Services team.

 

You will have relevant degree qualifications coupled with experience in a similar role.   Open cut mining experience is essential.  

Experience in strategic risk identification and management will also be highly regarded.

 

Working roster 4/3 FIFO based from Darwin.
