Job Description:

 Key Responsibilities

  • Complete accurate and timely shift reports after each shift
  • Ensure incidents are reported as required under the Mines Safety & Inspection Act (MSIA)
  • Carry out assigned tasks and work both individually and within a team based environment to complete set tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Liaison with Engineers, Geologists, Surveyors and other departments so that performance targets are met
  • Carry out statutory inspections on all work places as specified by the Mines Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations
  • Inspect fixed and mobile plant.
  • Monitor the workforce while carrying out their tasks to ensure compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures
  • Communication of safety issues and strategies to the crew and encourage a pro-active and interactive approach to Safety & Health issues
  • Active involvement in Continuous Improvement initiatives

 Essential qualifications/skills and experience

  • Australian trade recognised qualification
  • High Voltage Switching License (preferable)
  • Experience with underground and associated fixed and mobile infrastructure. This includes a working knowledge of mobile equipment, fixed plant, underground radio communication systems, dewatering systems, auto electrics and remote control systems
  • Competency in safe working practices
  • Good team based skills in providing motivation and achieving organisational goals
  • A strong commitment to safety and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Current "C" Class Drivers Licence (essential)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

The operation is fly in/fly out from Perth on an 8 days on / 6 days off, 7 nights on / 7 nights off roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided. Recreational facilities include internet café, Foxtel, swimming pool, tennis court and gymnasium.
