Job Description:
Responsible for meeting all production targets with particular emphasis on availability of equipment and budget, whilst maintaining a high level of security and safety.
- Facilitate and lead root cause analysis for major equipment failures and downtime events in the process plant and underground. Identify and implement corrective actions.
- Undertake analysis of plant and equipments downtime and machine performance data and in conjunction with the production, metallurgy and maintenance teams, identify quantify and implement opportunities that will improve overall equipment reliability and performance.
- Assist with predictive maintenance (PdM) activities including vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermographs and hydrocarbon management.
- Provide leadership and guidance for the development of overall maintenance strategies for critical plant equipment and underground equipments.
- Manage activities of the Maintenance Team to assure safe, cost effective and high quality maintenance activities and to optimize Company’s financial status.
- Ensure that maintenance practices result in maximum mill and underground equipments availability. Meeting or exceeding planned mill and underground equipment availability is a Key Performance Indicator.
- Assist Maintenance personnel to optimize Process Plant maintenance KPI’s, including mill availability, Underground maintenance KPI’s and planned maintenance, minimize costs and improve housekeeping.
§ Ensure achievement of optimum and cost effective plant and underground equipments performance and equipment service through active collaboration and planning between Operations, Metallurgy and Maintenance teams. § Advise on preparations of Capital and Operational budget for the Plant and Underground Maintenance Departments and Monitors budget against actual expenditure to ensure costs stay below or at budget levels To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Bachelor qualification in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Minimum 7 years experience in the Metallurgical Plant and Underground Equipment maintenance
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Managerial position
- Multi-discipline experience is required – Mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
- Extensive Practical Experience in Maintenance Management
- Demonstrated skills with capital justification, budget development, expenditure and controls
- Proficiency in conducting failure analysis and in the use of root cause investigation techniques
- Knowledge of business improvement methods such as LEAN as well as a basic understanding of data collection and statistical analysis techniques
- Ability to work in cross functional teams
- Experience with Computerized maintenance systems, e.g. Pronto, is advantageous
