Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategy – facilitate and coordinate strategic plan development for assigned commodities. Develop and manage new and existing suppliers to provide a supply base as a strategic asset. Facilitate and enable global strategic teams to manage assigned commodities.
- Profit Improvement – set goals and implement action plans to deliver low cost and cost improvement benefits to the regions. Develop opportunities and priorities with regional stakeholders to provide best TCO solutions for meeting Barrick needs on assigned commodities.
- Standards, Policies & Systems - In collaboration with the Regions, implement and facilitate compliance with global standards, policies and systems (prioritized by and aligned with the strategy) in order to enhance the NPV of our sites.
- Technical Oversight & Business Improvement - Via concise internal reporting and external benchmarking, identify trends and opportunities for improvement in commodity management.
- Collaborate with the Regions to prioritize and action opportunities.
- Champion the sharing of best practices, technology and sources, and in collaboration with the regions ensure their adoption throughout the company’s global operations.
- Providing Strategic input and direction to the supply chain management team on supply market trends and commodity specifics
- Manage and facilitate the activities of any functional teams or teams constituted to address specific challenges or implement specific actions, as assigned
- Other - Remain abreast of new developments and techniques in area of discipline. Other duties as required and assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Supply chain management experience.
- Experience working in an International setting.
- Experience in working with and facilitating diverse teams
- Good analytical and communications skills
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business or related discipline.
- 5 + years of supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions with strong operational background.
- Experience with supply chain technology/processes
- Experience in commodity and supplier management a definite asset
