Excellent opportunity to join this market leading company as a Senior Mine Geologist. This is your chance to lead and develop a team whilst continuing to further develop your own knowledge.   Xstrata Zinc is looking for a Senior Mine Geologist at the McArthur River Mine. McArthur River Mining Pty Ltd operates a zinc-lead-silver mine in which 2.2 million tonnes of ore is extracted each year. McArthur River Mine is Fly-in; Fly-out and is located in the Gulf of Carpentaria region of the Northern Territory.   You will be responsible for maximising productivity and performance efficiency of the geology group as well as providing technical services to the site.   Key responsibilities of this role will be:  

• Mentor and develop the mine geology team
• Supervise day to day grade control and geological duties
• Ensure up to date modelling of geological boundaries
• Resource estimation and reporting
• Design and implement diamond drilling programmes

  To be a success in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in geology, with a minimum 5 years mining experience and recent open cut and supervisory experience.   You will provide leadership and support to team members along with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.   Experience with VULCAN software will be an advantage.
