Job Description:

Sourcing Officer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract    Based at our Regional Office in Perth the position of Sourcing Officer works within the Supply Chain Management Department and reports into the Sourcing Supervisor. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that forward pricing agreements are formulated and maintained in accordance with Barrick’s policies and procedures.   This is an excellent opportunity to combine your experience in supply chain along with developed customer services skills to make a difference in this role.     Duties and responsibilities include:

 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external suppliers
  • Preparation of tender and contract documents for commodities and goods
  • Ability to research all aspects of mining supply
  • Liaise with Sites and Technical Services over material requirements
  • Actively participate in the development and ongoing review of procedures
  • Identify potential cost saving opportunities and initiate actions to capture savings
  • Support of relevant systems as required

  The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience:   A Tertiary qualification in Business or a Supply Chain related discipline is required with experience in a similar role highly regarded. An industrial manufacturing or retail supply chain background would also be considered. You will be a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to facilitate meetings.   This position offers a competitive salary package in line with qualifications and experience.  Standard benefits include premium private health cover for the whole family, life and income protection insurances and the added benefit of a rostered day off a month.
