Job Description:
Golder Associates is seeking an Hydrogeologist to join our 20-member Hydrogeology Group in our Calgary, AB location.
As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will:
- Take part in a broad range of technical services in the field of hydrogeology, including involvement in the groundwater component of Environmental Impact Assessments for the oil sands industry; baseline hydrogeological studies, mine dewatering projects and groundwater supply development;
- Take part in and/or manage field work associated with hydrogeological projects, including groundwater investigations, pumping tests, injection tests, design, installation and testing of supply or disposal wells, and site characterization/investigations;
- Analyze field data; formulate conclusions and recommendations and prepare reports;
- Work under the supervision of a senior team member, with the opportunity to rapidly assume increasing autonomy and responsibility.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with critical thinking and problem solving skills, and possess the following qualifications:
- Master's Degree; Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline;
- 5 years of relevant industry experience working on physical hydrogeology and/or geologic projects
- Investigations related to dewatering, water supply and feasibility;
- Excellent organization and time management skills;
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong technical writing skills; reporting, completion reports, proposal preparation and monitoring reports;
- Physical hydrogeology investigations related to mining;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment;
- Consulting experience preferred.
