Job Description:
We are seeking to recruit an Environmental Noise Consultant to our Edinburgh office to support the Noise Team. Working on projects in a variety of sectors (e.g. renewable energy, waste projects and mining), the successful candidate will provide noise support to senior staff with the following:
- The collection of baseline data through desk studies and field surveys;
- Working on site undertaking noise surveys;
- Data processing and analysis;
- The prediction of noise levels through the operation of proprietary software (e.g. Cadna-A);
- The preparation of data for presentation in reports;
- Drafting sections of reports;
- Liaising with members of the project team and with external organisations; and
- Providing support with the budget tracking of projects.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will be able to provide evidence that they possess the following attributes:
- An MSc or equivalent in a relevant qualification
- A diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control or proven experience of environmental noise;
- Familiarity with BS4142, BS5228, ETSU-R-97, Planning and Noise (PAN 1/2011 and its Technical Advice Note) and PPG24;
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English) and have strong technical writing skills;
- Strong organisational and planning skills;
- Be working towards Chartered status; and
- Hold a full, clean, UK driving licence.
Please note our projects are located mainly in the UK, however it is anticipated that opportunities will become available for involvement in international projects.
