Our West Australian mining operations include the Koolyanobbing Project located in the heart of the Goldfields providing lump and fine products to the international market, exported from our Port Operations in Esperance and the Cockatoo Island Project, a Joint Venture in the Kimberleys. We are seeking a highly innovative individual with strong technical capabilities to undertake the role of Senior Mine Planning Engineer, based in Perth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a strategic approach in the mine planning, pit optimisation, long term scheduling and reserve reporting requirements for Cliffs Koolyanobbing and Cockatoo Island Operations. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities include: · Conduct final pit and stage optimisation & designs for current and new deposits · Work closely with the Operational Mine Planning team to ensure all strategic plans operate in alignment with Operational framework and schedule · Ensure all schedules are aligned with the tenement and environmental approval procedures by regularly liaising and coordinating with the Land Access and Environmental teams · Calculate and provide detailed reserve estimate statements for all annual and other reporting requirements · Develop and publish long term mine schedules · Conduct scenario analysis of strategic mine plan options The successful candidate will possess the following: · Degree in mining engineering or a mining-related engineering field · Medium term operational mine planning experience · Life of Mine & Project planning experience · Substantial engineering experience in an open cut operation · Solid knowledge of Mine Planning, Mine Scheduling and Mine Design methods, techniques and software packages · Strong ability to be innovative and solve complicated issues · Proactive ability to identify value-adding opportunities · Effective communication skills, both verbal and written · Excellent time management and project management skills
