Plays a fundamental role in ensuring the Company realizes the full value of MOS and CI improvements. Position plays a key role in both the health and continuous improvement of a mine site MOS deployment and Business Excellence efforts. Essential job duties include:
- Ensure that improvements made to the mine’s MOS (implementation) and BE results are sustained and work to continuously identify gaps and opportunities to improve the overall business at the site (the MOS as defined by the Newmont MOS Blueprint and CI projects).
- Ensure MOS maturity of 3 maintained/improved for the site. Ensure MOS Maturity evaluations (2 times/year) are completed and summarized for Management review.
- Ensure MOS support issues are resolved internally within established benchmarks.
- Maintain up-to-date MOS documentation which reflects the Newmont Global MOS Blueprint
- Coordinate with other key inter Newmont departments (Financial, IT, Process Owners, etc).
- Conduct MOS audits and summarize them for Management to monitor MOS health.
- Ensure Continuous Improvement ideas are entered into the Sigma Flow Insights database. Provide CI support. Ensure the Value Chain Model is updated and used for CI project selection at the site.
- Serve as an expert in the Global MOS Blueprint and its associated Systems, Tools, Processes and Enablers, and CI. Responsible for coaching/training users in these MOS elements and working to improve the MOS maturity (sustainability)
- Ensure the site MOS remains aligned to the Global Blueprint and Regional requirements as MOS matures at all levels.
- Contribute to a Global and Regional Newmont Best Practices MOS community
- Integration with other initiatives and BE efforts such as Pangaea, Business Excellence (CI, OSS (AMT), Business Readiness), ESR/HSLP ( IMS, Safety Journey, Safety Task Force), Capital Effectiveness, CI, and HR (Leadership Pipeline, PMT, Job Descriptions, Skills Matrix, Training).
- Be a Go-To Person ensuring Newmont MOS Tools, Systems, Processes and Enablers remain functional and are enhanced over time as requirements change.
- Coordinate MOS Audits and Maturity Evaluations. Ensure Audits are conducted to the quality and frequency required. Ensure Audit results are and made available and used by Management. Ensure MOS users receive coaching and constructive feedback.
- Coach building Monthly Priorities from Tactical Plan & emerging issues. Assist and coordinate updating the Tactical Plan on a quarterly basis. Assist and facilitate the development of the Tactical Plan annually.
- Coach employees on site in the continuous identification of gaps and opportunities to improve the MOS and ensuring the use of management tools holds to the standards of the Newmont MOS Blueprint.
- Ensure an employee development program for MOS users is documented, executed, and accurate

Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience

- Understanding of MOS management Tools/Enablers (RAAM, Tactical Planning, Monthly Priorities, Meeting Flow Matrix, Auditing Tools, RCA, AMT, Value Chain Model, BE Project Life Cycle (Sigma Flow Insights – CI idea capture), PDCA principals application, Other Tools (5Ps, Electronic Shift Logs, Meeting Charters, etc).
- Understanding of Mine site budgeting processes
- Experience with managing and leading small teams effectively
- Good “training/coaching” skills. Ability to work with sites to adopt changes
- Able to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Self-motivated, with the ability to set and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and personal organization skills
- Computer skills and data analysis capabilities
