The Tasiast Expansion Program is offering opportunities for Mining Professionals who want to take their career to the next level. Tasiast is set to become one of the great gold finds of our generation. It is the first mine in a highly prospective greenstone belt, located within an extensive gold system that is largely underexplored. The Tasiast development plan includes construction of a new mill with increased capacity from the current level of 10,000 tonnes per day to approximately 60,000 tonnes per day
Purpose of Role 
 
The primary purpose of the position is the management of
all electrical and integrated technical services related to camp maintenance
and construction 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties 

 
Accept personal responsibility for the Health & Safety
of every employee or contractor assigned to his supervision
Directs compliance of Safety Programs and Processes as
outlined in the company Safety Policy Manual
Responsible for all existing and future Camp Electrical Infrastructure
Responsible for all existing and future site-wide HVAC and
Refrigeration systems
Responsible for all existing and future site-wide CCTV
Responsible for all existing and future site-wide Access
Control systems
Responsible for all existing and future site wide Fire
Detection systems
Responsible for all existing and future site-wide Fire
Suppression systems
Coordinate & support IT department with existing and
future IT installations within the Camp areas
Coordinate with all related departments such as engineering,
supply chain, IT, transport logistics, safety, environment and operations
Plan and execute assigned projects within budget, time
frame, quality standards and project objectives
Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely
processing of all activities related to camp maintenance and construction
Answers queries and handles requests related to electrical
maintenance which includes problem solving and judgment
Complies with established methodologies and quality
standards related to electrical / maintenance while at the same time
recommending new or alternate approaches
Escalates issues requiring knowledge about the broader
business impact of decisions
Sets priorities and allocates resources; analyzes
maintenance functions and makes adjustments to crew size as demands change
Monitors efficiency of all maintenance teams
Monitors, analyzes, and implements changes to ensure
maintenance is preventative, predictive, and proactive
May mentor or train less experienced employees on
operating standards, procedures and methods
Manage and ensures that adequate personnel resources are
available
 
Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements 
 
Must have successfully completed and possess an Electrical
Trade Certificate and currently hold a valid electrical license
Must have completed and possess a HVACR Trade Certificate
Must have extensive experience working with CCTV, Access
Control, Fire Detection & Suppression, Data & Communication systems
Minimum 10 - 12 years of related work experience in both
maintenance and construction supervisory/ superintendent roles.
Excellent understanding of vendor and contractor
warranties and contract maintenance.
Ability to work independently and also as a member of the
management team.
Experience in managing senior employees & planning.
 
Additional Qualifications & Skill Requirements 
 
Previous experience in the mining industry required.
