Position Description:
 
The position will be responsible for managing underground operations and the activities of
an underground mining contractor. Emphasis will be on conducting safe and efficient mine
development, stope operations, ventilation, backfilling and related activities. Responsibilities
include managing day to day activities of ventilation, ground control, backfilling, water
pumping, high pressure air systems, electrical distribution and communication systems. 
Candidate will have primary responsibility for cost and performance control of the
underground mining contractor. Must coordinate ore control activities, sorting of ore types
and tracking ore stockpile quantities and quality with mine geologist and Sr. mine engineer.
All the while ensuring a strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.   
Job Qualifications:
•  BS Degree in Mining, Geology or equivalent experience
•  Minimum 10 years experience in underground hard rock mining
•  Minimum of 5 years on site experience in narrow vein mining & back filling
•  Experience in underhand cut and fill stoping methods
•  Strong leadership abilities 
•  Capable of utilizing latest computer & software technologies such as
Microsoft office products 
•  Supervisory and contract management experience of underground mining
contractors 
•  Supervisory experience of individuals with technical and non technical
subordinates
Job Requirements:  
•  Ability to operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties
•  Manage mining contractor, maintenance services & support services

•  Ability to manage production costs and productivity requirements
•  Optimize the extraction of mineralized zones and minimize dilution
•  Coordinate work with Supt. of  Surface Operations, Sr. Mine Engineer,
Surface Superintendent, mine engineers, geologist and surveyors 
•  Follow mine design, mine plans and ground control procedures
•  Assure proper ventilation is in operation & maintained at all times
•  Assure proper ground control systems are in place, maintained and procedures
are followed at all times
•  Assure underground pumping, electrical distribution, air systems and
communications are operational at all times
•  Responsible for coordinating ore control activities, sorting of ore types and
tracking ore stockpile quantities and quality with mine operations
•  Responsible for preparation of daily, monthly and yearly production reports
•  Prepare clearly written monthly reports and other documentation on required
frequencies.
•  Prepare capital and operating cost estimates
•  Develop and manage budgets
•  Maintain constructive and effective working relationships with Pinson
employees, contractors and consultants.
•  Ability to multi-task and prioritize time, work, and resources.
•  Other tasks as required in support of company objectives
