PRODUCTION MANAGER

Job Description:

This key management position reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible
for managing the processing mill operations, including process development and
optimisation, as well as leading the central maintenance team.
 
Duties will include but not be limited to:
 
ƒ Manage all aspects of safety, environment, production and engineering
requirements of the business to achieve optimal product recoveries, grade of
product and plant availability in accordance with budget.
ƒ Develop and implement annual budgets for the production department,
engineering workshop and schedules to process feed stocks from the various
minesites. 
ƒ  Liaises with all stakeholders including marketing, shipping and transport
personnel to ensure timely delivery of concentrate, storage of product and
availability of finished goods to meet shipping and processing requirements.
ƒ  Provide leadership and direction for  employees within the group through
coaching, development, performance management and all other facets of Human
Resources Management.
ƒ  Ensure systems are developed to maintain and improve equipment in a reliable
and safe manner and in conjunction with the Mining and other departments
coordinate central workshop activities to meet maintenance requirements.
ƒ  Liaise with Technical Services on  process developments and as part of a
management team manage projects within the process department.
  
The position requires a highly motivated person with excellent communication skills
and strong leadership to be  part of driving profitable and effective business
outcomes.  
 
Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy or a related discipline are essential as well as
extensive metallurgical experience and significant supervisory experience, preferably
at management level.
