Purpose
- Ensure all HR deliverables for stages 3, 4, and 5 stage gates are planned for and provided for all functions.
- Leverage relevant existing HR resources within the region and throughout the globe in accordance with established standards and processes.
- Partner with HR Business Partner team in executing upon the human capital plan in accordance with established growth plan.
- Plan for and establish necessary HR resources to achieve the HR execution plan.
- Align staffing cost estimates with execution approach.
Essential Duties Establish and implement Development Group HR strategy and direction:
- Initiate and execute HR projects and programs that will have a long-term impact for the Development Group business in alignment with corporate strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate and offer suggestions for resolution for any conflict between corporate standards and local laws and prevalent local customs.
- Provide strategic direction, counsel, and partnership with Development Group senior management team as it relates to human resource initiatives.
Manage and monitor the effectiveness of key HR functions:
- Acts as a liaison and coordinates with corporate and other regions such that consistency is maintained between operating sites and Projects sites.
Partner with Corporate and Regional HR teams on the execution of the HR strategy and programs for Development Group through:
- Support of talent acquisition activity (e.g., liaison for workforce planning and forecasting, establish and maintain functional team organization charts, ensure job descriptions are established and maintained).
- Support of expatriate program (e.g., ensure deployment plans meet business and employee needs, ensure cost effectiveness).
- Delivery of talent management and organization development results (e.g., conduct talent reviews, establish and maintain talent pools with mgmt, development planning, coaching, 360s, performance management goals setting and calibration, team effectiveness).
- Lead compensation focal reviews in conjunction with Corporate Compensation team.
Partner with the Development Group senior management team to:
- Attract, develop, engage and retain a highly effective Development Group team which provides guidance and expertise to the business. Ensure performance objectives for team members are defined. This includes individual development plans which build a strong succession pool for the Development Group organization.
- Facilitate active identification and management of the region's key talent through the performance management, talent assessment and succession planning and management processes. As appropriate, develop and monitor effectiveness of nationalization plans.
- Ensure effectiveness of the performance management process for Development Group including establishment of goals and evaluation of performance.
- Develop and manage the Development Group workforce plan to align recruiting and development strategies in partnership with the business, talent acquisition, and talent management.
- Make the overall corporation more effective and efficient, through an understanding of local cultural norms, political and social issues.
- Demonstrate and coach "team values" to all employees to foster a teaming culture.
- Provide strong change leadership facilitation, training and building commitment skills.
- Ensure data and HR information align with the global data standards.
- Participate as an active member of the Newmont Global HR Teams and Corporate HR Team.
- Provide leadership with respect to safety and environment standards supporting a work environment that is protective of human health and the environment in accordance with Newmont standards.
Working Conditions
- Position is located at project offices (Job Site) at either international or domestic locations.
- Position may be required to travel to and assist other domestic and international sites.

Training & Experience
- Minimum of BS degree in human resources, organization development, business or related field plus 10 years broad based HR experience, in management positions; PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Previous experience with international HR preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR related laws and regulations in multi-cultural environment, preferably with experience in an international setting.
- Strong industrial relations background with a minimum of five years direct experience.
- Excellent customer/employee contact skills.
- Strong oral and written communications skills appropriate for consultation to all levels of management. The ability to present ideas clearly and gain agreement and group consensus.
- Must have the ability to influence and drive change in the organization.
- Depending on location, foreign language skills required (Suriname - Dutch, Peru - Spanish)
