Create a suitable work environment to motivate staff, employees and contractors to achieve optimum effectiveness, productivity and operating costs. Provides strategic direction and leadership to the Mine Maintenance functions within the mine area. Establishes and manages Mine Maintenance department goals and objectives. Promote projects and programs within the Mine that provide continuous improvement in the areas of safety, environment, production and efficiency. Creates and implements policies and procedures that result in optimum effectiveness, productivity and operating cost. Responsible for mine maintenance budgeting, performing capital evaluation of projects, producing management reports, and coordinates all maintenance activities with other departments. The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive. WORKING CONDITIONS:             May be required to travel to and assist at other domestic and international sites.Expectation is the incumbent will rotate from the nominated home base to site in Suriname on a 23 days on by 19 days off roster. 

 

Qualifications

 TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:           Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Heavy Equipment Maintenance at Mining and 8 Years of Supervisory Experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary. Strong presentation, facilitation, and consultation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Strong PC skills using Microsoft office such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio. Demonstrate strong supervisory, verbal and written communication skills.
