Barrick Kanowna is one of the leading employers in the Goldfields and has the largest exploration lease holding of any single gold mining company in the region.  The Position: As a Mine Planning Engineer at Kanowna Belle Gold Mine you will be part of a world class technical team. Kanowna Belle is successfully open stoping and trucking from a depth of over 1000m in a technically challenging environment. To support this, a highly-skilled, multi-disciplinary mine technical team has been created to operate production and planning systems utilizing the latest technologies. These include PITRAM as a production and maintenance support system and Mine24D/Minecad to support mine design and scheduling. Your duties and responsibilities include: ·         Medium and long term mine planning and mine design;·         Detailed stope and development design to support production activities;·         Stope evaluation, extraction strategies and optimization;·         Presentation of Mine Designs for peer review and input;·         Provide technical support for the mining operations;·         Assistance with Reserve preparation; and·         Working with production, geological and geotechnical sections to ensure mining is carried out safely and effectively to meet budget and life of mine targets. The Person: You will be tertiary qualified in Mining Engineering and have two to threeyears experience within an underground mining environment. Other requirements include: ·         Sound computer literacy, ideally familiar with Mine 2-4d or Datamine;·         Strong communication skills both verbal and written;·         A team focused approach; and·         A demonstrated commitment to achieving high safety and environmental standards.  Based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder in the heart of the Western Australia Goldfields, you will be delighted at the attractive lifestyle and excellent facilities this town can offer. With a population of 35,000, Kalgoorlie-Boulder is a prosperous centre with modern amenities including first-class sporting facilities, excellent schools and good shopping. To help you make the most of what Barrick Kanowna has to offer, you will enjoyresidential living and a competitive salary package including health cover, other personal insurances and will be eligible to participate in a performance incentive plan and earn up to an additional $10,000 per annum.
