Position Description:
 
The position will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling mine
engineering, planning, geotechnical services and related functions, including resource and
mineral reserve modeling and estimation. The incumbent will be responsible for short
and long term mine planning, cost estimating, budgeting and optimization trade off
studies. In addition, responsibilities include design of underground mine development
workings, blasting systems, ventilation systems, ground control systems, production
stopes and mine haulage systems . All the while ensuring a strong commitment to safety
and environmental compliance.   
 
Job Qualifications:
•  BS Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
•  Minimum 6 years experience in underground hard rock mining
•  Minimum of 2 years on site experience in narrow vein mining & back filling
•  Experience in underhand cut and fill stoping methods
•  Experience in mine ventilation, rock mechanics & ground control techniques
•  Proficient in resource modeling & designing of UG mine development
•  Capable of utilizing latest computer & software technologies such as Microsoft
office products, CAD software, and mining programs such as Vulcan, Surpac,
MineSite, Gemcom or Dataminec. 
•  Supervisory experience with both technical and non technical personnel
 
Job Requirements:  
•  Ability to operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties
•  Manage on site contractors & consultants
•  Optimize the extraction of mineralized zones and minimize dilution
•  Direct and supervise other mine engineers, geologist and surveyors

•  Responsible for resource modeling, resource and reserve estimates
•  Design of underground mine development, blasting systems, ventilation
systems, ground support systems, production stopes and haulage systems. 
•  Mine planning activities for both short term and long term
•  Responsible for coordinating ore control activities, sorting of ore types and
tracking ore stockpile quantities and quality with mine operations, with the mine
geologist. 
•  Responsible for preparation of daily, monthly and yearly production reports
•  Prepare clearly written monthly reports and other documentation on required
frequencies.
•  Prepare capital and operating cost estimates
•  Develop and manage budgets
•  Maintain constructive and effective working relationships with Pinson
employees, contractors and consultants.
•  Ability to multi-task and prioritize time, work, and resources.
•  Other tasks as required in support of company objectives
